Mesozooplankton distribution was investigated at eight stations of Saemangeum dyke from 2012 to 2014: five in the inner region and three in the outer region. 69 taxa were identified in the inner region while 73 ones in the outer region. Mesozooplankton densities ranged from 98.8 to 46,547.4 inds./m³ in the inner region and 249.0 to 5,387.3 inds./m³ in the outer region. Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) of dominant species and environmental variables revealed a clear distinction between the inner and outer regions during most sampling periods, indicating that the environmental differences caused by the construction of the dyke significantly influenced the mesozooplankton community. In the inner region, chlorophyll-a was the most influential environmental factor, while in the outer region, it was salinity.
